Does the T5U4 need a PC to record calls? +

Yes. The T5U4 is PC-dependent — it must stay connected to a Windows PC via USB to record. Recordings are saved to the PC's hard drive. There is no internal storage. For standalone recording (no PC required), see TR500 or TR900.

How many phone lines can the T5U4 record? +

4 PTCL lines simultaneously. Expand by connecting additional Tansonic units (T5U2, T5U4, T5U8, T5U16) to the same PC — up to 128 channels total.

How much storage does it need on the PC? +

WAV recordings use ~30MB/hr/channel. With a 1TB PC hard drive, you can store 30,000+ hours. Loop recording auto-deletes the oldest files when disk space is low.

Can it show who is calling before I answer? +

Yes. Caller ID (DTMF/FSK) pop-up shows the caller's number and, if stored, their name, company, and call history from your CRM database.

Can recordings be accessed remotely? +

Yes. LAN access lets any networked PC search and play recordings. FTP upload automatically sends recordings from branch offices to a central server.
